Algolina Matcha Powder 50 Gr (Green Tea)

Matcha, a special type of green tea, is produced from the Camellia sinensis plant but undergoes a different cultivation and processing process, resulting in a unique nutritional profile. Tea farmers grow matcha by covering the tea plants about 30 days before harvest to avoid direct sunlight, which gives the plant a darker green color and increases chlorophyll production. After hand-picking the tea leaves, stems and veins are removed, and the leaves are ground into a fine powder known as matcha. Dried tea leaves grown in shade are called tencha.

Traditionally, grinding the leaves into a super fine powder using granite stones takes a long time, and the grinding process is done away from light to preserve the nutrients in the content. This cultivation method of matcha enhances the beneficial compounds in the leaves. High-quality matcha tea is known to contain high levels of catechins and chlorophyll. There are different grades of matcha, with ceremonial grade matcha being the highest quality.
